Federal Funding Information

President Trump remains committed to cutting funding for popular programs that people rely on – presenting real-life threats to the safety and well-being of LGBTQ+ people across the country.

For many people across the country, the programs that rely on federal funding are lifelines – a roof over their heads, access to health care, and mental health support.

Donald Trump is creating fear, confusion, and chaos for our community on purpose – to tire us out and discourage us from fighting back. We can't give him more power than he has.

How Our Community Can Be Impacted

  • HIV Prevention & Treatment Programs:
These cuts potentially disrupt access to life-saving care and treatment for thousands of LGBTQ+ individuals living with HIV.
  • Mental Health & Violence Prevention Services:
Many centers that provide essential mental health counseling have already reported facing funding disruptions. Additionally, many LGBTQ+ youth depend on federally funded crisis intervention programs.
  • Educational & Child Welfare Programs:
Programs like Title I education grants, Head Start, and childcare grants that support LGBTQ+ youth and families can be impacted, worsening disparities in access to quality education and support services.

As always, you should make the choices that are best for your individual situation, and you may want to consult a lawyer. There has been a lot of confusion already, and implementation will take time. Expect confusion to continue.

Understanding Executive Orders and What They Mean for the LGBTQ+ Community

From attacks on nondiscrimination protections in the workplace to attempts to limit the health care access of transgender, non-binary, and intersex individuals to bans on transgender individuals serving in the military, these executive actions attempt to undermine our hard-fought progress.
