OutServe, an association of actively serving LGBT military personnel, is hosting a “Capital Summit” May 14-15 in Washington, DC, to discuss some of the biggest challenges facing LGBT military families, and talk about solutions.
The conference will feature workshops and presentations on everyday issues that military families face. In its release announcing the Summit, OutServe noted: “Spouses and partners of gay and lesbian service members are not currently provided all available resources to support their families during and after deployments, nor are they given access to base facilities or many educational, counseling, healthcare, and other privileges. For example, a gay or lesbian spouse cannot pick up a child from military day care, or purchase groceries for the family at the commissary.”
Register now for the Capital Summit.
HRC is sponsoring the conference, along with the Courage Campaign and the Servicemembers Legal Defense Network.
