A Most Lethal Weapon - Words!

The potential for massive distribution of lethally hateful words for selective destruction, which is the preferred weapon of hate mongers such as the homophobic, has increased tremendously. In so many instances the perpetrators are still wearing white robes, and standing in elevated positions, cleverly smiling down upon captivated masses… the masses who willingly believe this clergy of anger are conduits of righteous guidance.

From Exile to Open Arms

When I transitioned in 1993 I had to leave my church and my ministries. I remained in exile until 2005, when I moved close to the church I now attend.

Finding New Hope in the Gospel

It was then, thankfully, that I completely surrendered my life to Christ and trusted that he would bring something good out of my situation. After a season of letting go and trusting that God wanted the best for me, I started to have compassion for those around me who were also homosexual. I shared my heart with my Wesley Pastor telling him my dilemma. He then hugged me and said that God loved me just as I am.

Young Gay Ministers and the Spiritual Quest

The small church needed a new minister. Several had been interviewed and one specific candidate had really been impressive ... there was only one potential challenge, he had disclosed that he is gay. The church, mainly made up of the aging members of their farming community, liked him very much but worried about the rest of the congregation accepting his lifestyle.

Transitioning in My Synagogue

When I approached my rabbi to announce my upcoming gender transition, I was fully prepared. I had photocopies of relevant Torah and Talmud, writings on Jewish medical ethics from as early as the '60s, and the responsa of an Israeli rabbi whose work on this issue was considered the gold standard by most other Jewish religious leaders.
