Yesterday, HRC President Chad Griffin spoke on Capitol Hill about The Equality Act, which would guarantee explicit, permanent protections for LGBT people in many of the most important aspects of their lives.

Griffin joined individuals who have been victims of discrimination and several prominent members of Congress at a press conference to introduce The Equality Act.

“In most states in this country today, a couple who gets married at 10 a.m. is still at risk of being fried from their jobs at noon, and evicted from their home by two,” Griffin said. “All in the same day. Simply for posting that wedding photo on Facebook.”
