Support continues to grow for marriage equality in Maryland. Some major companies recently coming out for Question 6 include PayPal, Calvert Investments, NIKE, and Nordstrom. More than 200 small businesses and organizations have endorsed Question 6 in the run-up to tomorrow’s election.
The support is reflective of a growing nationwide movement in which we’re seeing businesses do the right thing and support equality. In its statement endorsing Question 6, NIKE said:
Nike's support of this ballot initiative is consistent with our previous support of state-level civil unions, domestic partnerships and workplace non-discrimination legislation…We are a company committed to diversity and inclusion, and we believe all of our employees should be treated equally.
HRC has set up a special fund to direct 100 percent of your contribution today to defend the marriage equality law in Maryland. HRC is a founding member and leader of Marylanders for Marriage Equality, the coalition campaign working to defend marriage in the Free State, and your contribution will support the coalition's efforts and counttoward your HRC membership.
