The city of Atlanta is gearing up for the November 7 municipal election in which Atlantans will cast their ballots for the next Atlanta mayor. HRC, along with our friends at Georgia Equality, have endorsed Cathy Woolard, who has dedicated most of her life’s work to #FightingForAtlanta. Woolard is the clear choice for fair-minded voters to continue moving Atlanta forward as a welcoming and inclusive city.

If you live in the city of Atlanta (Fulton and DeKalb county), you can cast your ballot today. Here are some key dates and things to keep in mind:

• Early Voting is Monday, October 16 through Friday, November 3.
• City of Atlanta residents are eligible to vote for the next Atlanta mayor in addition to council president, council members, Board of Education members and municipal court judges. You can check your voter registration and view a sample ballot at My Voter Page.
• Some early voting precincts open as early as 8 a.m. and close as late as 7 p.m.
• Weekend voting begins October 28. Check the schedule for the early voting location closest to you by visiting the My Voter Page.
• Friday, November 3 is the last day to early vote.
• November 7 is Election Day. Polls are open from 7 a.m. - 8 p.m. in Fulton County and 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. in DeKalb County. Be sure to check your precinct hours on the My Voter Page. If you’re in line and the poll closes, stay in line as you will be allowed to cast your ballot.
