This weekend, LGBTQ students attending Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) will convene for HRC Foundation’s 13th annual HBCU Leadership Summit: Leading In Truth. The summit will include 46 students representing 23 HBCUs from across the country. The four-day leadership development program prepares students to lead resourcefully through the intersections of race, sexual orientation, religion, gender and class. Students are challenged and prepared to become change-agents and advocates on their campuses.

The 2018 summit will take place in Atlanta, Georgia -- the first time participants will convene outside of HRC’s Washington, D.C., headquarters. In addition to an amazing list of facilitators, workshops and leadership development opportunities, students will have an opportunity to engage with notable LGBTQ figures.

HRC Foundation’s HBCU Program is generously supported by The Coca Cola Foundation, who will host the summit’s opening reception at its Atlanta headquarters. The reception will include remarks from Coca Cola’s new Global Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer, Lori Billingsley, who is also an HBCU graduate of Howard University in Washington, D.C.
