HRC Texas had the opportunity to tour the state with pop superstar Ariana Grande.

Last week, HRC Texas had the opportunity to tour the state with pop superstar Ariana Grande.
Grande’s “Dangerous Woman Tour” made stops in San Antonio, Houston, and Dallas. HRC field organizers enlisted volunteers in all three cities to collect postcards for legislators, urging them to take a stand against anti-LGBTQ legislation. Volunteers included LGBTQ Texans, allies and several parents of LGBTQ youth.
Fans were delighted to see HRC at the concerts and stopped by to chat with staff and volunteers at each venue. They asked questions, signed up to volunteer and learned how to take action against discrimination in the Lone Star State.

In Dallas, four LGBTQ youth had the opportunity to meet Grande privately and take a photo. Later in the evening, management arrived with front row tickets for the children and their parents -- directly from Grande.
During the concerts, Grande and her dancers performed wearing “Don’t Discriminate in the Lone Star State” pins, showing solidarity with the LGBTQ community and opposing discriminatory legislation in Texas.
By the end of the three-day multi-city action, the first of its kind for HRC Texas, Grande’s fans wrote over a thousand postcards for legislators and signed up to volunteer with their local HRC field office. Volunteer for HRC in Texas at our local office coming to a city near you!
