/ As a teacher, I made it my mission to champion and advocate for the LGBTQ students in my school and let them know they were safe and welcome in my classroom — an experience many youth are unfortunately not afforded. - @BeckyPringle #HRCTwitterTakeover pic.twitter.com/9qC897VB25

/ While we have made strides toward equality, too many LGBTQ young people still face dramatically heightened rates of discrimination in school, at home & within their community. This, coupled with bullying, weighs heavily on our youth. - @BeckyPringle #HRCTwitterTakeover pic.twitter.com/jypZ5xPv4i

/ According to @HRC & @UConn’s 2018 LGBTQ Youth Report, only 26% of LGBTQ youth feel safe in their classrooms, & just 5% say all their teachers & school staff are supportive. At @NEAToday we are working for change - @BeckyPringle #HRCTwitterTakeover https://t.co/FvMkvTRu3Q

/ In order to stand for our youth—with them—We have to listen, read, and engage in courageous conversations. We have to learn. Continuously. It is a journey I invite ALL educators, parents, allies to take with me. - @BeckyPringle #HRCTwitterTakeover pic.twitter.com/k9JZsirir0

/ @NEAToday proudly supports the LGBTQ community. We recognize the distance we still have to travel toward full equality. As educators, we must surround our LGBTQ students with the tools & resources they need by affirming them. - @BeckyPringle #HRCTwitterTakeover pic.twitter.com/3Pku5DpXtN
