On October 8, Mississippians will have the opportunity to hear the renowned San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus perform for the first time at Thalia Mara Hall in Jackson. As part of their Lavender Pen Tour, the chorus will also be joined by the Oakland Interfaith Gospel Choir and the New Orleans Gay Men’s Chorus choir by performing various locations throughout the southern U.S. states.
What makes this even more special is that the while the chorus historically travels internationally each year to perform, this year they chose to come to Mississippi. They chose to stay home here in the U.S. in order to get to know what it’s like to be LGBTQ in some of the most conservative states in the country-to have conversations, to share their gifts, to honor the work that’s already going on and to make a difference.
HRC Mississippi is thrilled to welcome the San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus to Jackson. We are also honored to be beneficiaries of a portion of the proceeds from the concert.
Please join us in welcoming them on October 8, by purchasing tickets at this link.
