The Human Rights Campaign is deeply saddened by the passing of Senator Harry Reid, a champion of LGBTQ+ equality, a leader in the effort to repeal ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell,’ a key leader in the passage of the Affordable Care Act, and a staunch advocate of hate crimes legislation. His leadership and courage will long be remembered and his legacy and vision for this country as a more inclusive and just place will persevere.
