WASHINGTON – The Human Rights Campaign (HRC), the nation's largest lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) civil rights organization, tonight congratulated New Hampshire Governor Maggie Hassan on her re-election. Marty Rouse, HRC’s National Field Director, issued the following statement:
“Governor Hassan has been a tremendous advocate for fairness and equality in New Hampshire, and we are thrilled she will be able to continue that leadership. We congratulate her on a well-fought campaign and look forward to continuing to work with her on issues of importance to LGBT people in New Hampshire - especially passing important protections for transgender New Hampshirites.”
The Human Rights Campaign is America’s largest civil rights organization working to achieve lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender equality. HRC envisions a world where LGBT people are embraced as full members of society at home, at work and in every community.
