WASHINGTON – The Human Rights Campaign (HRC), the nation's largest lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) civil rights organization, tonight congratulated Minnesota U.S. Senator Al Franken on his re-election. David Stacy, HRC’s Government Affairs Director, issued the following statement:
“Senator Franken is a champion for the rights of LGBT Americans and has worked hard in the Senate to fight discrimination. We congratulate him on his hard-fought win. HRC is proud to stand with him, and we look forward to his continued leadership as a powerful and effective voice for families in Minnesota and around the country.”
The Human Rights Campaign is America’s largest civil rights organization working to achieve lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender equality. HRC envisions a world where LGBT people are embraced as full members of society at home, at work and in every community.
