WASHINGTON - Today the Human Rights Campaign, the nation’s largest lesbian, gay bisexual and transgender civil rights organization, released an issue brief framing many of the issues set to be discussed at tomorrow’s White House Conference on Safe Schools and Communities.  U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder and White House Senior Advisor Valerie Jarrett will deliver keynote addresses at this conference.  It is the third in a series of eight such conferences hosted by the White House.

“The Obama Administration has made clear its commitment to the lives and safety of LGBT Americans,” said HRC President Joe Solmonese.  “HRC will continue working to make America’s schools and communities safer and more welcoming through our advocacy and foundation programming.”

Tomorrow’s conference will be held on the campus of the University of Texas at Arlington and will feature speakers, workshops and  panel discussions on a variety of topics pertaining to LGBT people, including bullying of LGBT youth, hate crimes, LGBT domestic violence, and family acceptance.
