HRC Responds to Reports Regarding DC Dyke March

by Sarah McBride

WASHINGTON -- Today, the Human Rights Campaign (HRC), the nation’s largest lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) civil rights organization, responded to recent media reports regarding the DC Dyke March and antisemitism.

“The LGBTQ community is as diverse as the fabric of this nation,” said HRC President Chad Griffin. “In pursuit of equality, we must combat anti-Semitism, racism, sexism, xenophobia, Islamophobia and bigotry in all of their forms. At a time of increasing hate violence in the United States, our community spaces must be welcoming and safe for LGBTQ people of all faith backgrounds, including Jewish LGBTQ people.”

The Human Rights Campaign is America’s largest civil rights organization working to achieve equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer people. HRC envisions a world where LGBTQ people are embraced as full members of society at home, at work and in every community.
