Today, HRC released the Blueprint for Positive Change 2020, an important brief that includes 85 individual policy recommendations, reaching across the federal government, aimed at bettering the daily lives of LGBTQ people at home and abroad.
“The momentous election of pro-equality champions Joe Biden and Kamala Harris puts us on a path to move equality forward by advancing policies to improve the lives of millions of LGBTQ people. Over the last four years, the Trump-Pence administration has systemically attacked LGBTQ people and our nation’s most sacred institutions — our courts, our Constitution, and our fundamental civil rights. The Biden-Harris administration has the opportunity to not only put our democracy back on track but deliver real positive change for LGBTQ people’s daily lives. The Blueprint for Positive Change 2020 charts the next administration’s path forward to improve the lives of LGBTQ people and move the needle closer toward full equality.”
Building on our expertise in administrative policy-making, the Human Rights Campaign’s Legal and Government Affairs team evaluated existing and potential rules and regulations for possible improvement, reversal or implementation by a pro-equality President. Developed over the course of months, the Blueprint for Positive Change 2020 provides a critical roadmap of 85 individual policy recommendations that should be the priority of the incoming administration. These recommendations do not require any action by Congress. The Blueprint has been shared with the Biden transition team as they evaluate the policy steps of the incoming administration.
