Human Rights Campaign Endorses Minneapolis City Councilor Phillipe Cunningham For Re-Election

by Wyatt Ronan

On Friday, the Human Rights Campaign PAC (HRC PAC) announced its endorsement of Minneapolis City Councilor Phillippe Cunningham for re-election.

In 2017, Cunningham became the first openly transgender man of color elected to a city council anywhere in the United States. Cunningham has been a vocal advocate for his Ward 4 constituents and his leadership has focused on transforming community safety and building community wealth.

“Councilor Cunningham’s historic election and focus on community-building during his time in office have made Minneapolis a stronger and more inclusive city,” said Human Rights Campaign Senior Vice President of Policy & Political Affairs, JoDee Winterhof. “Cunningham’s advocacy on issues of LGBTQ+ equality have put important measures of progress front and center on the Minneapolis City Council and the Human Rights Campaign is proud to endorse him for re-election so Minneapolis can continue to benefit from his leadership.”
Paid for by Human Rights Campaign PAC (www.hrc.org) and authorized by Northsiders for Cunningham.
