by Laurel Powell

WASHINGTON -- Today, the Human Rights Campaign and the Human Rights Campaign Foundation (collectively HRC), together the nation’s largest lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ+) civil rights organization, announced it has retained the services of Korn Ferry to assist in the search for the organization’s next president. Korn Ferry, a global organizational consulting firm, which scored a 100 on HRC’s 2021 Corporate Equality Index, is a leading provider of recruitment and diversity & inclusion-focused solutions.

After speaking with over a dozen highly-regarded search firms, we’re eager to move forward in our search for HRC’s next president with Korn Ferry. Over the next weeks and months, our committee and our partners at Korn Ferry will conduct an extensive search to find the right candidates to lead this organization into the future.

This is a key moment in the Human Rights Campaign’s history. Each and every member of this organization - from the search committee to our interim president and members of staff - sees this search as an opportunity to redouble our efforts to make our work even more impactful for members of the LGBTQ+ community who have previously felt left behind. Korn Ferry will be a vital partner in making sure HRC’s next leader is up to that challenge.

Jamaul Webster, Co-chair of HRC’s Executive Search Committee and member of the HRC Foundation’s Board of Directors

HRC’s Executive Search Committee, made up of members of its Boards of Directors with support from advisors and staff liaisons, is committed to ensuring that HRC remains well-positioned to advocate for all members of the LGBTQ+ community and continue its vital work towards both legal and lived equality.
