Washington– Today the Human Rights Campaign – the nation’s largest lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender civil rights organization – released a web ad featuring Washington state Gov. Christine Gregoire for its Americans for Marriage Equality campaign.  In the ad, Gregoire, who recently came out in support of marriage for gay and lesbian couples in her state, says “As an American, a wife and mother, marriage equality is fair, just and right.  And it is time.”  The video can be viewed online at http://www.hrc.org/MarriageEquality.

“Marriage equality is on its way to Washington state and Governor Gregoire has been an amazing champion of fairness for all families,” said HRC President Joe Solmonese.  “With last night’s Senate vote and next week’s expected House action, Governor Gregoire is a leader in the growing movement for equality.”
